How is it that people or objects can come to represent more than the sum of their parts?

 

By definition, manifestation describes a thing that is an expression of a theory or an idea, or in our case, a place, a lifestyle, a memory.

 

For Issue 6, we sought out stories and people that are embodiments of the community surrounding them. We sampled a dish marked by family history, viewed a generations-old technique applied in new ways, re-examined our relationship to nature, and followed the breath of an artist.
